The aim of the Quality Seal/ Qualifications Framework Working Group is to develop a guideline and quality assurance instrument. On the basis of these, the systematic design of study programmes, modules and study contents of industrial engineering courses of study is supported and simplified - among other things on the basis of learning outcomes.

Objectives and history

The aim of the Quality Seal/ Qualifications Framework Working Group is to develop a guideline and quality assurance instrument. On the basis of these, the systematic design of study programmes, modules and study contents of engineering and management courses is supported and simplified - among other things on the basis of learning outcomes.

In 2012, the Qualifications Framework was drawn up jointly with the Association of German Industrial Engineers (VWI) and published for the first time. A revised second edition was published in 2014.

The working group is currently revising and further developing the Qaulity Seal/ Qualifications Framework. Adjustments to current developments/changes are taken into account; on the one hand with regard to academic training and on the other hand with regard to the vocational requirements for engineering and management students.

Outlook

An English version is planned, which will also serve internationally to ensure the quality standard and at the same time make the successful concept of Engineering and Management better known internationally. The aim is to improve the connectivity of the International Council of Academic Departments in Engineering and Management in other European countries and beyond.

It is expected that the third revised version of the Qualifications Framework for Engineering and Management will be available by the end of 2018.

The working group usually meets three to four times a year, mainly at the Munich University of Applied Sciences.
